या वेळच्या  मुखपृष्ठ  चित्रकार आहेत प्रियांका काळे… आपल्या या चित्राविषयी त्या  म्हणतात : 

A few years back, while speaking to someone, I realised that I had no hobbies. I do not count watching TV or reading books in that category. So on a whim, I decided to go to  a painting workshop. I didn’t realise that that one random Saturday afternoon adventure would end up becoming a regular occurrence in my life. This painting style, in particular, is called a knife palette painting and as the name suggests, the majority is painted with a knife, not a brush. It was a relatively easy but time consuming effort. In the painting, you can see a ballet dancer, limbs extended, striking a pose. I like the freedom that the pose suggests. The ease and passion with which the lady is dancing, all the while still looking poised and pretty. I wish we all could find something that makes us let go with such abandon, especially in these times of uncertainty, stress and ever changing landscapes.

(काही वर्षांपूर्वी, एका संभाषणादरम्यान, मला जाणीव झाली की मला कोणतेही छंद नाहीत. दूरचित्रवाणी  पाहणे किंवा पुस्तके वाचणे यांना मी छंद या श्रेणीत मोजत नाही. एके दिवशी अशीच  लहर लागली म्हणून, मी एका चित्रकला कार्यशाळेत जाण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. त्या वेळी मला अजिबात असे वाटले नव्हते, की  ‘त्या’ एका  शनिवार दुपारच्या या साहसाचे रूपांतर माझ्या  एका  नेहमीच्या उद्योगात  होईल. ही चित्रकला शैली, ‘नाईफ पॅलेट पेंटिंग’ (Knife Palette Painting) म्हणून ओळखली जाते आणि नावाप्रमाणेच, बहुतेक चित्र चाकूने रंगवले जाते, ब्रशने नाही. हे तुलनेने सोपे पण वेळखाऊ काम असते . 

चित्रात,  तुम्ही एका बॅले नर्तकीला पाहू शकता. तिने  आपल्या हातांची कमान करीत एक विशिष्ट नृत्यमुद्रा धारण केलेली आहे. त्या मुद्रेत अभिप्रेत स्वातंत्र्य मला खूप भावते. नृत्यातली सहजता, उत्साह  सांभाळताना तिने आपला डौलही सोडलेला नाही. आजच्या  अनिश्चित, तणावपूर्ण  आणि सतत बदलणाऱ्या परिस्थितीत आपल्या सर्वांना असाच  एखादा तणावमुक्तीचा मार्ग मिळावा अशी माझी इच्छा  आहे.)
