My woman

I wanted the female figures in my paintings to be bold, caring, motherly as well as beautiful and sensuous at the same time. They are stylishly lissome. But the viewer would be making a mistake if the steel in them is missed. They personify strength of endurance, protecting the young ones and are highly bonded to nature. In all of my figure paintings, you’ll see the figures enveloped by nature and still standing out boldly, caring less of what the world thinks of them. These women are part of nature, yet they stand out. Her emotions and feelings are reflected in nature. She can brew up a storm if she wants to. This underlying strength of women though hinted upon, is covered with her playfulness and sensuality in these paintings. She can be an indulgent mother, a confidante or a solitary reaper. Even then, these women have powerful auras around them enhancing their beauty and strength.  They may be single in most settings, but they are alive and native to their surroundings, sensuous, happy in their own skins, verily springing from Mother Nature. They are tempting and they are caring. Nature covers their nakedness or their raiment is stolen by Nature, depending on one’s point of view. The skies come down to envelop them, when the waters are not parting for them. Where the sickle is an extension of the arm of the reaper. The technique of short strokes are like starbursts. One cannot miss the energy bubbling underneath, the storm that may hold back or come in as a gale, the empathy that gets translated, and the intimate knowledge of feminine grace and sensuality and how a woman transforms her soi-disant weaknesses into powerful auras.

(मला माझ्या चित्रांतील स्त्रीप्रतिमा  स्वायत्त सौंदर्य आणि स्त्रीस्वाभाविक औदार्याने दीप्तिमान,ऊर्जावान असाव्यात असे वाटते. या चित्रांनी स्त्रीची आंतरिक शक्ती, कोमल वात्सल्य आणि लालित्य अंकित करावे. त्यांनी तिचे निसर्गाशी असलेले प्रगाढ नाते अधोरेखित केले पाहिजे अशी माझी कसोशीची भूमिका आहे. खेळकर; पण खेळणे नव्हे, प्रेमळ; पण वस्तू नव्हे आणि लक्षवेधी; पण सजावटी नव्हे, असे त्यांचे खळखळते प्रवाही स्त्रीत्व कधी तुषार विखरील  तर कधी फत्तरही भेदेल असे धारदार हवे.)
